Director of Programming & Trainer Development
ProActive Fitness

Growing up I played elite minor Junior hockey and baseball. After my career as an athlete came to a close due to injuries, I diverted my competitive energy into challenging myself both physically and mentally. I was hooked, physical fitness was now my passion, which led me to pursue an education at the University of Saskatchewan and receive a Bachelor's degree in both Kinesiology and Education.

My personal fitness journey started as most do, following in the path of Arnold, in the gym training like a bodybuilder, and competing in physique shows. Extreme competitions like these can have some negative consequences due to the nature of the training, which left my body feeling exhausted and worn out. I didn’t feel like setting foot in the gym; cue my functional fitness journey. Shelley & ProActive Fitness, a functional aging studio in Saskatoon Sk, provided me with my first career opportunity to explore the functional fitness world and as a result, my understanding of movement grew immensely.

I have been with ProActive for just over 7 years now, and in that time, I have successfully built a standardized program for over 250 small group clients (with varying capabilities) based on the Functional Aging Training Model.
