Performance Coach,
Author, and Motivational Speaker

Jay Cardiello is a renowned performance coach, author, and motivational speaker known for transforming the way people think about health, behavior, and sustainable success. For more than two decades, he has worked at the intersection of behavioral psychology, human performance, and lifestyle transformation, helping individuals from elite athletes to global entertainers unlock their highest potential.

Jay’s client roster has included some of the most recognizable names in sports and entertainment, including 50 Cent, Jennifer Lopez, Sofia Vergara, Timothée Chalamet, and Rami Malek, as well as professional athletes across the NFL, Major League Baseball, the XFL, Arena Football League, and world championship boxing. His experience working with elite performers has given him a rare perspective on what it truly takes to sustain excellence under pressure.

He gained national recognition as the featured performance coach on the ABC television series My Diet Is Better Than Yours, where he helped contestants achieve dramatic transformations by focusing not only on physical training but also on the behavioral patterns that drive lasting change.

Jay is also a TEDx speaker known for his provocative and widely discussed talk titled Why Diet and Exercise Makes You Fat. In it, he challenges conventional wisdom about weight loss and explains why traditional diet-and-exercise approaches often fail. His work emphasizes that sustainable transformation begins with understanding human behavior, habits, and the psychological drivers behind everyday decisions.

Building on this philosophy, Jay developed the KAILO 12-week transformation program, a behavioral life change system designed to help individuals break destructive cycles and create sustainable habits. The program integrates performance training, behavioral psychology, and mindset development. Research conducted in collaboration with Emory University explored the behavioral framework behind the program and helped validate Jay’s model of why people develop patterns around food, health, and addiction, and how those patterns can be successfully rewired.

In addition to his coaching and speaking work, Jay is the author of two best-selling books on health and performance and has been featured widely in media for his innovative approach to behavior-driven transformation.

Jay holds a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist credential through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is also a certified nutritionist and life coach, and earned his degree in English from the College of William and Mary.

Whether he is speaking to corporate audiences, leadership teams, healthcare professionals, or performance-driven organizations, Jay brings a unique blend of science, real-world experience, and powerful storytelling. His talks challenge audiences to rethink their habits, confront the psychology behind their choices, and develop the mindset and discipline required to build a life of sustained health and success.

Above all, Jay believes transformation is not about quick fixes. It is about understanding human behavior, building meaningful habits, and creating a legacy of impact.
