Founder
Tupler Technique®

Julie Tupler, RN, CPT, CCE, is a leading specialist in Diastasis Recti rehabilitation with more than 30 years of clinical and teaching experience. She is the founder of the research- and evidence-based Tupler Technique®, a structured program designed to bring separated abdominal muscles closer together by strengthening the weakened connective tissue (linea alba) so it becomes strong enough to hold the muscles in a more functional, supported position. Her outcomes data with 372 clients show an average 55% reduction in diastasis in 6 weeks, and research support from the Columbia University Program in Physical Therapy found the Tupler Technique can reduce diastasis even during pregnancy as the uterus grows.

Julie is also an inventor and educator who created the Together Tummy® splint, designed to help approximate the muscles and connective tissue so corrective exercises can be performed from a better starting position—improving effectiveness and addressing common misconceptions that splinting “weakens” muscles. She has authored four books—Maternal Fitness, Lose Your Mummy Tummy, Together Tummy, and Will You Be My Belly Buddy—and has produced six educational videos, including Together Tummy® (streaming; divided into 21 chapters for easy clinical use), Lose Your Mummy Tummy, Perfect Pushing, Ab Rehab (pre- and post-abdominal surgery support), Belly Button Boogie (children), and Say Goodbye to Your Guts Guys (diastasis recti in men).

In addition to working directly with clients, Julie trains medical and fitness professionals worldwide in the Tupler Technique®, teaching the research- and evidence-based method, assessment and measurement strategies, safe exercise progressions, approximation tools (including splinting and taping), and a support model that improves adherence and outcomes. Her work has helped expand awareness that diastasis recti is not merely cosmetic—it is a functional medical issue affecting pregnant and postpartum women, men, children, and pre/post-surgical patients.
