
Sue Scott, MS, is a highly accomplished professional with extensive expertise in balance and mobility for older adults, exercise and brain health, and Parkinson’s Disease. As founder and owner of Renewable Fitness since 1983, she maintains a strong conviction in the unique and transformative benefits of exercise for enhancing both mental and physical well-being. Ms. Scott has delivered workshops and classes covering topics such as fitness, balance training, and brain health at leading industry organizations, including the International Council on Active Aging (ICAA), International Association for Health and Services for Aging (IAHSA), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), IDEA Health and Fitness.
In 2003, she developed ABLE BODIES® Balance Training, an innovative, multi-modal balance training program recognized for its effectiveness, creativity, and engaging approach. ABLE Bodies Balance Training, 1st Ed, was published in 2009, and her second edition followed this year, ABLE Bodies Balance Training, 2nd Ed., Human Kinetics, Champaign, Ill., 2026). Her publication continues to serve as a reference in academic institutions and certification programs and remains recommended by ACSM for use with frailer populations.
Sue holds master's and bachelor's degrees in Exercise Science and is certified as an Exercise Physiologist by the American College of Sports Medicine. She is also certified as a PWR! trainer and as a Brain Health Trainer.
