In April 2023 we had the unique opportunity to open a Cancer Wellness Center in a Comprehensive Cancer Center. One of the only ones we could find in the United States. What would appear to be a simple 'you build it and they will come' situation, turned out to require new strategies, new relationships and new systems to get patients into Cancer Wellness. From being top of mind of the providers, to going from 25 referrals a year, to 25 referrals a month, all the way through the graduation of an 8 week program.

Timothy Smith
Timothy W. Smith serves as Clinical Program Manager For Exercise is Medicine Department and The Cancer Wellness Center Manager at First Health. His journey in the Medical Fitness
field began in 1990 as a Personal Trainer and Exercise Specialist for Cardiac Rehab.
Along the way, he has managed several fitness centers, outpatient clinics, and started his own independent business as a consultant for providers, assisted living facilities, and training Exercise Professionals for various roles.
